Ectos are now 3k900g at the rare mat trader....THREE THOUSAND, NINE HUNDRED GOLD!

Holy smokes!

So, seen as they are going to get lower & lower, what seems to be the replacement for them for trades above 100k?
Z-Keys maybe?

Zkeys HAVE been the replacement since ecto when below 5k and before.

This is not a QQ thread, not a thread about A/E, simply a thread stating that Ecto prices ARE NOT starting to stabilize and ARE going to keep going down.

Well, looking at every post on here concerning the A/E everyone seems to think that Ecto prices will stabilize, obviously not.

They won't....srsly, when they got to 4k500g people were saying 'they'll stay like this now', now we're at 3k900g lol. I feel so bad for these people who farmed for their FoW when it was actually a grind to farm for and showed dedication. No I don't have FoW.

How about people start selling them for 4k+?
It'll only make them richer, and the economy will start to go "back to normal".

If people had no problem paying 4.5k for ectos before, they wont have a problem with it again. Force people to buy ectos for higher prices now.

It's not the amount of ectos people have, its the people who are starting to sell them lower.

You may be working on a strange definition of "stabilized." The reason they are dropping in price is because the old price was above market value using whatever algorithms the trader NPCs use. If the price drops to 1k or even 100g, and stays there, then the price will have "stabilized." It doesn't mean that the price stops and stays HIGH, just that it stops and stays. Rising prices are also "unstable."

There is the possibility, however, that you are right, and it will not stabilize. This will happen if the price of ectos gets so low that they are not worth farming any more. Fewer will get sold to the trader, and the price will rise again. Rinse/Repeat.

That requires long-term thinking. GW power-traders are more like modern corporations. Profit in the short-term, leave the long-term consequences for someone else to worry about after I retire.

To sell ectos at 4.5k now when the trader is selling for 3.9k (can't get on now to verify current price, so going with what was stated at the start of the thread) means that they won't sell their ectos this minute. "Screw that, I'll just buy them from the trader." In the long term, as more are bought from the trader than other players, the trader price rises. But that cuts into the right-now-now-now profits, so I don't expect to see it happen.

I think that was obvious to people that had a clue. Prices will continue to fall, and good riddance. Until ecto gets out of the hands of the community and becomes scarce again they wont hit a floor price. Perhaps ecto prices are shot for good with the coming release of GW2.
